Notable cases: Farhana has dealt with a variety of cases that have been reported in the media with the most notable being R v G which concerned a mother killing her 2 young children where there were issues concerning the mental health of the mother and issues surrounding the Social Services and Mental Heath team.
Publications: Farhana was recently approached by the Guardian newspaper requesting to write an article on the day in the life of a defence lawyer. This was published in The Guardian on 30th January 2010.
Farhana joined T V Edwards LLP as a newly qualified solicitor from her training firm in November 2002. She was made a member Partner in 2008. She has practiced in all areas of Criminal law including advocacy in the Youth Court however now her cases deals with mainly adult offenders.
Farhana is a Duty Solicitor and also has Higher Rights enabling her to appear as an Advocate in all courts in all proceedings. Farhana has sat as Junior Counsel with the head of Chambers on a 5 week fraud case at St Albans Crown Court where an acquittal was gained. This was a multi handed matter and gained the only acquittal out of all the defendants charged.
