Advises on following areas of law:
Emily assists Partner Jenny Hunt and Solicitor Leslie Jaji in the Social Welfare Department, mainly working on possession proceedings, disrepair and homelessness cases.
When and why did they become interested in the area of law in which they practice?
Whilst studying for her LLB at the University of Liverpool, Emily became interested in social welfare through volunteering roles at places such as the Citizens Advice Bureau and the Liverpool Law Clinic – at which she advised clients on housing, immigration and benefits matters. Emily also spent time working on the Hillsborough Inquest and the Orgreave Truth and Justice Campaign. She then spent the last year working on the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse. All of these experiences have given her first-hand experience of how important publicly funded work is and how dedicated the lawyers working in this area of law need to be.
Emily completed her LPC LLM at the University of Law in Leeds.
