Rachael provides support to our housing and community care solicitors working on a range of cases including possession proceedings, anti-social behaviour injunctions, Court of Protection applications and advice on community care issues.
Rachael says - I first became interested in housing law through volunteering at the Tenant Resource and Advisory Centre in Vancouver, B.C. I provided information related to the BC Residential Tenancy Act via telephone to help resolve residential tenancy issues. I also volunteered for Pivot Legal Society in Vancouver in a case involving homelessness. While completing the Legal Practice Course, I volunteered for the BPP Legal Advice Clinic (Housing). I interviewed clients with housing law issues and drafted letters of advice. Volunteering showed me the positive impact that housing law advice can have on clients’ lives and the importance of providing accessible, high quality legal services.
I am passionate about housing and community care law and committed to access to justice.
Whilst studying for her Graduate Diploma in Law Rachael was awarded a Career Guarantee Scholarship.
