Civil Actions against Public Authorities

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Legal 500 and Chambers UK recognised firm.   

We are recruiting a 0-5 year qualified solicitor with experience of dealing with Civil Actions against Public Authorities.   This role is based at the firm’s offices in Whitechapel.  TV Edwards have a further office based in Clapham Junction.  This role offers excellent career development opportunities for the right candidate.

The Role

You will provide advice and representation to a wide range of individuals in relation to Civil Actions against Public Authorities, which includes but not limited to, the Police, Crown Prosecution Service and the Prison Service. Areas may include: wrongful arrest, false imprisonment, human rights, assault by prison staff/police, malicious prosecution and discrimination.

Our ideal candidate will be a member of the Police Actions Lawyer Group (PALG), have a professional pro-active approach.   You will have a track record in litigation and experience in handling a broad range of public and privately funded Civil Actions against Public Authorities work, and a keen interest in specialising in this interesting area of law.  You will be comfortable working with supervision and show initiative and drive. You will have the ability to promote yourself and the department’s services, be pro-active and possess excellent client care skills.

You will be used to working well under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
