Maya Jordan Shah
Maya assists Jennifer Mansell, Hannah Rondel and Michael Sherlock in the Social Welfare Department, working on housing and community care cases.
Maya became interested in social welfare whilst volunteering as an adviser at Citizens Advice. She advised clients in areas of housing, benefits, employment and immigration matters.
Whilst doing her LLM Maya was also able to volunteer with the university’s pro bono clinic. It was a combination of these volunteer works that made her aware of the importance of legal aid funded work.
Maya graduated with a 2.1 in Law LLB from Exeter University and achieved a distinction in her LLM Legal Practice course at BPP University in Bristol.
Maya has raised money for Amnesty International through events such as pub quizzes and acoustic nights.
